Enable Dark Mode in Microsoft Office apps
Previously we had learned the method to enable Dark Mode for Teams, OneNote, and Outlook. Proceeding further, let us now cover other office applications like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You can choose to configure the changes either on a single computer or across all devices logged-in with your Microsoft account. For the sake of convenience, we have chosen the Excel application. However, the method to turn Dark Mode on or off in other Office applications like Word and PowerPoint remains the same.
Launch Microsoft Office Excel application. Go to the File tab located on the Ribbon menu. Click the tab to open its menu. If you would like to configure the change across all devices logged in with your Microsoft account, select the Account tab.
Then, under the Office Theme heading, click the drop-down arrow to choose the Black theme. This will enable the Dark mode across all your devices using the same Microsoft account. To configure the change across a single device, go to the File tab, click it and scroll down to Options. Click Options to open the Excel Options window. Under it, scroll down to Personalize your copy of the Microsoft Office section.
Click the Office Theme drop-down arrow and choose and select Black to enable the Dark mode. Save the changes and exit the window.
Instantly, the selected dark mode will be enabled. If you are not happy with the changes made, you can undo them at any time. That’s all there is to it! Read: Is Dark Mode better for your eyes?
