Import photos from SD Card to Windows PC

If you are trying to import photos from a camera, you can use the USB cable, open the photos folder and simply copy-paste them into your PC. However, this process takes longer. SD card, on the other hand, allows you to quickly and easily import photos using an import wizard. To do this:

1] Insert the SD card into the SD slot of your PC

Almost all modern-day laptops come equipped with an SD memory card reader built into the machine. It can be accessed by inserting the SD card into the card reader slot.

When you plug an SD card into your PC, it will recognize it as a portable hard drive as shown in the screenshot above.

2] Use Windows Photos app to import photos

Now, to import photos to your PC, you can open Windows 10 Photos App or any other app of your choice.

If you choose Windows 10 Photos App, you’ll see an ‘Import’ option in the upper-right corner of your computer screen. Hit the button and when presented with options, select ‘From a USB device’.

Instantly, the Photos App will prompt you to select the items you want to import. Select the photos by clicking them and when done, press ‘Import Selected’.

By default, the Photos App will create a separate folder of the imported pictures and put them together in the ‘Pictures’ folder.

Go to the ‘Pictures’ folder and check if all the images you selected have been imported to your PC. That’s all there is to it!
