Before you begin, we suggest you check what version of Opera browser you are using. Is it up to date or not? Update it (if not already) and check if the issue is fixed. 1] Whitelist Opera browser in Windows Defender Firewall or third-party firewall
Sometimes, a firewall tool blocks web browsers from accessing the internet because of which webpages don’t load. Windows Defender Firewall comes with a built-in option to allow or block a program in Windows Defender Firewall. Such a feature is also present in other similar third-party tools. Therefore, you should check if Opera web browser is whitelisted (or allowed) in Windows Defender Firewall or another third-party firewall tool that you’re using. 2] Disable built-in ad blocker of Opera browser
Opera comes with a built-in ad-blocking tool. By default, it is disabled. If you have enabled it on a specific website, that website and its webpages will not open. This is one of the reasons why sometimes web pages don’t load in Opera. If this is the case, disable Opera’s built-in ad blocker, and see if it brings any changes. 3] Check for a problematic extension
Sometimes, extensions in a web browser cause several issues. You should see if there is an extension installed in the Opera browser causing this issue. For this, disable the extensions one by one and load those webpages that are not opening. If the webpages load after disabling a particular extension, consider removing it. Many users have also found that Adblock Plus is the culprit of this problem. Hence, if you have installed the Adblock Plus extension, you can try disabling it on the websites. To disable Adblock Plus on a specific website, click on that extension icon, and then click on the button next to This website to turn it off.
If this does not work, try removing the Adblock Plus extension. Apart from the Adblock Plus extension, other similar ad blocking extensions can also prevent certain webpages from loading. 4] Reset Opera browser to a default state
If none of the above solutions worked, try to reset the Opera browser. The steps to do this: If you have performed a complete reset by deleting all the data, you will lose all your bookmarks and add-ons. You can restore all your bookmarks by signing in back to your Opera browser. But, this does not restore your add-ons.
